Torghatten Trafikkselskap AS has signed a contract with Fiskerstrand Verft AS for the building of a Multi Maritime designed car and passenger ferry. The contract includes options for two additional ferries.

The ferry will have capacity for 60 cars (10 on a hoistable deck) and 249 passengers (and crew). The ferry is designed for operation in exposed waters and the vehicle space is completely covered. The passenger lounge features panoramic views with large window surfaces. Passengers enjoy access to large external deck areas.

The ferry is arranged with diesel electric propulsion. The diesel engines are capable of running on 100% biodiesel. The ferry is prepared for retrofitting battery systems, ranging from all electric, to plug-in hybrid or hybrid.
