Multi Maritime has been awarded a major design contract for three 140 m long car and passenger ferries for Bastø Fosen AS. The ferries will operate at Norway’s busiest ferry route Moss-Horten in the Oslofjord.

The three ferries will have a capacity for 600 passengers, 200 cars and 24 20 m long commericial vehicles. Two of the ferries will be built at Sefine Shipyard, and the third at Cemre Shipyard. Both yards are located in Yalova outside Istanbul.

The ferries has been designed for low energy consumption and emissions, with 25-30% less fuel consumption and more than 80% reduced NOX-emissions compared to the ferries operating ferry route today.
