Plug-in hybrid refit for Melshorn and Vardehorn

The 1999 built car ferries Melshorn and Vardehorn will refitted with plug-in hybrid propulsion systems at Havyard Ship Technology.

The ferries were originally built with diesel electric propulsion systems.

Batteries and new power electronics will be installed, and according to plans both ferries will be completed by the end of the year.

Multi Maritime has been involved in concept developement and provided technical support to Torghatten Nord. In the continuation Multi Maritime will deliver a detail engineering package.
